Big Brothers Big Sisters, an organization that provide monitored matches between adult volunteers and kids, received a $40,000 grant from the Indian River Community Foundation.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties will use the grant to fund a program tagged "Mentoring for Success in Early Childhood" to boost kindergarten readiness for at-risk kids in Indian River County.
