Flint Area Congregations Together Grant

Organization - Flint Area Congregations Together
Grant Amount - $100,000
Foundation - Mott Foundation
Grant Purpose - Few regions in the United States have experienced the sustained economic trauma that Flint has while simultaneously demonstrating a remarkable community resilience. One expression of this resilience is the commitment that faith institutions have made in responding to the multiple challenges facing families and neighborhoods. In 2006, clergy and lay leaders from seven different denominations founded and incorporated Flint Area Congregations Together as a vehicle to address issues of poverty, violence, inadequate education, blight, and other concerns facing Flint and the region. Flint Area Congregations Together is an affiliate of the PICO National Network. This general purpose grant will provide partial support as the organization pursues its goals and objectives.
