The Cleveland foundation has awarded their third-quarter grants totaling $8.8 million.
The biggest chunk of the giving was awarded for cutting edge research into cells and membranes at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. The grant approved by the foundation's board of directors is $1.5 million.
According to the foundation's executive vice president Robert Eckardt, the foundation helps Cleveland institutions to become nationally competitive and move to the next level.
