A Kansas State University fraternity has donated $35,000 to a local animal shelter after one of its members was seriously injured in a car accident.
Blake Aurand, a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, was riding his motorcycle on Saturday when he was hit by a vehicle going the wrong way on a highway, the Manhattan Daily News reports.
Aurand was rushed to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The fraternity raised the money by hosting a dogs' walk on April 28.
"Over the years we have been able to support once this year, and we are honored to be able to help them in their mission to help animals in need," says a fraternity chair.
