Grant Purpose - This grant will provide general purpose support for Corner House's long-term goal to enhance the democratic control by communities in developed and developing countries over the decisions and investment resources that affect their lives and livelihood. To attain this goal, Corner House advocates for participatory, transparent, and accountable investment policies and practices of international financial institutions, in particular, the World Bank, European-based export credit agencies, and private banks. The focus of its work is the development of an investment framework that ensures the centrality of sustainable development objectives, as well as strengthening the safeguard policies governing the activities of international finance institutions.
