Grant Purpose - Succession planning is a sound risk management practice -- it is critical to ensuring the continued effectiveness of an organization before and after a leadership transition. Since 1997, through its Executive Transitions program, CompassPoint Nonprofit Services has provided succession planning/leadership transition technical assistance to over 400 nonprofit organizations. This grant will enable the grantee to deliver such services to five of the Mott Foundation's State Fiscal Analysis Initiative grantees, each of whom will undergo an executive and/or founder transition within the next three to four years. CompassPoint Nonprofit Services is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the impact of Bay Area nonprofit, community-based organizations and the people who work and volunteer in them.
