Grant Purpose - This grant to the Economic Mobility Corporation, a project of the Vera Institute of Justice, will fund a workforce development study to learn about the current state of the field, including efforts to increase the skills and earnings of immigrant workers. The project will investigate efforts led by nonprofit organizations, community colleges, unions, and employer associations that seek to help immigrant workers to advance in the labor market. This includes sectoral employment strategies; efforts to support entrepreneurship; bridge programs to connect workers in English as a Second Language classes to community colleges and other skills training; organizing efforts; and other innovative strategies tailored to the needs and experiences of immigrants living in the United States.
